Avenged Sevenfold drop new track “Mad Hatter”

Another A7X contribution to the ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops’ games.

Avenged Sevenfold are back with a brand new track called “Mad Hatter,” which will be included on the soundtrack to the upcoming video game, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Frontman M Shadows spoke about the “dark and brooding” track in a recent interview, saying, “We wanted to capture a difference [sic] feeling than a straight-ahead ‘zombie killer’ track. These songs are good places for us to experiment with our sound. I would put this in the category of “dark alternative.’”

It’s an appropriate description: “Mad Hatter” chugs along with sinister guitar chords that don’t let up from start to finish, while Shadows’ voice is at its twisted, powerful best.

The song will be featured on an upcoming EP titled Black Reign, which will include all four tracks the band have recorded for the various Call of Duty: Black Ops games.

Fans of the group—and the game—will go mad for “Mad Hatter.” Stream the track here:
