Ancestors tease new album with single, “Gone”

If it is any indication of what to expect of the record, it’s going to be beautiful.

American metal ensemble Ancestors have news for its fans. Come August 24, they’ll be releasing their first album in six years, Suspended in Reflections via Pelagic Records. And to get you psyched up, they’ve also dropped a new single: “Gone.”

The track is hauntingly beautiful, and it signals that the band haven’t strayed too far from their signature sound. Lead singer Justin Maranga’s melancholic vocals are accompanied by droning distorted lead lines that give the song a pensive feel. Listen closely and you’ll hear the shimmer of the Aeolian-Skinner Organ that’s reportedly used throughout the album’s runtime.

Let us know what you think of the track.
