Alice in Chains drop riveting video for “Never Fade”

From the album ‘Rainier Fog,’ which was out in August.

You’ll have a hard time tearing your eyes away from Alice in Chains’ grisly video for “Never Fade,” off their latest album Rainier Fog.

Followers of the grunge-metal outfit will recognize this clip as the follow-up to “The One You Know,” where we find out what strange infection the male protagonist is battling and what becomes of the vagrant he picks up at the convenience store. We won’t spoil it for you, but it’s safe to say fans of zombie flicks and the Alien franchise will love this one.

“Never Fade” is a pretty personal song for the Seattle band and particularly frontman William DuVall. “I sang about the history, all the songs that had been written, all the arguments among bands and discussions about the future,” he told Kerrang!

“I was thinking about my grandmother, who’d just died a few months earlier; thinking about [late Alice in Chains member] Layne Staley, thinking about [Soundgarden’s] Chris Cornell, who’d just passed a month before—just letting it wash over, and at the end, I walked out into the dawn and felt I’d had a significant spiritual experience.”
