A funeral goes awry in Pig Destroyer’s “Mt Skull” video

There are bananas involved.

Grindcore isn’t all angst—just take a look at Pig Destroyer’s new video, for “Mt Skull.”

The Joe Stakun-directed video is set at a funeral, which is apt for the song’s ringing refrain: “Everyone on Mt Skull is dead!” Our deceased protagonist, Stanley (played by Josh Fadem, whom you might recognize from Better Call Saul), is being carried in his casket to his final resting place—until ‘banana time’ strikes, catching the pallbearers unawares. And yes, it gets even crazier from there.

The pulverizing “Mt Skull” is fresh off Pig Destroyer’s upcoming album Head Cage, their sixth full-length and first with bassist John Jarvis, who joined the band in 2013. The album—their first in six years—is out next week on Relapse Records, the label the Virginia band has called home for more than 15 years.
