South Korean indie pop quartet The Rose have returned with a brand-new project, Red, along with a music video for its title track.
The outfit—consisting of Woosung, Jaehyung, Dojoon and Hajoon—let loose on the feel-good number as they raise their glasses to freedom and youth. In a recent interview with Arirang’s After School Club, Doojoon explained that the song illustrates the “passion and feelings you have towards something or somebody.”
In the accompanying Stone-directed visual, the band find themselves performing in different landscapes, from an abandoned building to a rooftop to the beach. At one point, the group discover an empty parking lot, set off fireworks and jam out to their song.
Red is the follow-up to The Rose’s 2018 EP, Dawn. It features the B-side “California,” a song the group wrote after a recent tour of the Golden State.
