Watch Yussef Dayes reimagine Stanley Clarke and Curren$y songs live

Dayes, Rocco Palladino and Charlie Stacey take on “Yesterday Princess” and “Job.”

Drummer Yussef Dayes, accompanied by bassist Rocco Palladino and keyboardist Charlie Stacey, has released video of a studio performance of Stanley Clarke’s “Yesterday Princess” and Curren$y’s “Job.”

The supremely talented trio linked up at Unwound Studios in London, locking in and taking on their respective parts with flair. The star is of course Dayes, who delivers complex, energetic fills and solos on the kit.

Dayes—who was one-half of the now-defunct duo Yussef Kamaal—is currently on tour in Europe with Palladino and Stacey. Check out their tour dates here.
