Watch Jeff Goldblum and his band play “Cantaloupe Island”

Jazz, uh, finds a way.

If you didn’t know actor Jeff Goldblum—he of The Fly, Jurassic Park and Thor: Ragnarok fame—is also a prolific jazz pianist, well, now you do. He and his longtime band the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra have just released a video of their live rendition of “Cantaloupe Island.”

Goldblum leads the band with his signature sly-dog panache through the Herbie Hancock standard, acknowledging enthusiastic audience members while applauding guitarist John Storie and tenor saxophonist James King on their agile solos.

“Cantaloupe Island” opens The Capitol Studios Sessions, the album Goldblum and the Orchestra released on Decca late last week. Other tracks include “My Baby Just Cares for Me,” featuring Haley Reinhart, “Come on-a My House” with Imelda May and “Me and My Shadow” with Sarah Silverman.
