Watch Esperanza Spalding’s quirky video for “Move Many (joints)”

Another visual from the deluxe version of ‘12 Little Spells.’

Esperanza Spalding has released a new video for “Move Many (joints),” a bass-led cut from the deluxe version of her latest album, 12 Little Spells.

The innovative video makes use of paper cutouts and silhouettes to dramatize a woman’s changing life. She starts out as a human symbol with no distinguishing characteristics (think commonplace bathroom signage), moving through her humdrum life like everybody else. But after discovering a flower in a drawer, which she affixes to her head, she transforms into a distinct person with limbs and frizzy hair.

“Move Many (joints)” is one of four songs Spalding put out in May as part of the deluxe version of 12 Little Spells. The album was originally released late last year.
