Tony Bennett, Diana Krall declare “Love is Here to Stay”

Lifted from their George and Ira Gershwin tribute album.

Tony Bennett and Diana Krall have just shared the video for “Love is Here to Stay,” the title track of their upcoming George and Ira Gershwin tribute album, which arrives this Friday on Verve Records/Columbia Records.

Instead of an opulent visual, the pair have opted for a much more laid-back approach. The result? Just two jazz stalwarts—backed by the Bill Charlap Trio—performing in a cozy, warm-hued recording studio. Certainly, where the video lacks in creativity, it enchants with the two singers’ magical chemistry.

“When Tony Bennett and Diana Krall sing the music of the Gershwins, it’s truly the consummate artistic pairing of singers and songwriting,” said Danny Bennett, the president and CEO of Verve Label Group, in a press release.

Love is Here to Stay will also revisit other popular compositions by the Gershwin brothers, including “S’ Wonderful,” “They Can’t Take that Away” and “My One and Only.”
