The new album by The Comet is Coming has finally landed

Put on ‘Trust in the Lifeforce of the Deep Mystery’ and imagine an apocalypse.

The Comet is Coming have touched down bearing their highly anticipated sophomore album, Trust in the Lifeforce of the Deep Mystery.

The new nine-track album, the jazz trio say, is a soundtrack to an imagined apocalypse—and the rebirth that takes place thereafter. “Through the transcendent experience of music we reconnect with the energy of the Lifeforce in hope of manifesting higher realities in new constructs. Because the end is only really the beginning,” the group said in a statement accompanying the record.

Saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings (also of Sons of Kemet as well as Shabaka and the Ancestors), keyboardist Dan Leavers and drummer Max Hallett (both of Soccer96) formed The Comet is Coming in 2013. Their last record was their 2016 debut, Channel the Spirits.
