The Cosmic Range release sophomore album, ‘The Gratitude Principle’

The prolific group drop off six jazzy, funky tracks.

The Cosmic Range have become a somewhat prolific force over the last few years, having released their stellar debut, New Latitudes, in 2016 and contributed to US Girls’ acclaimed 2018 record, In a Poem Unlimited. Late last week, the group released their sophomore record, The Gratitude Principle.

Over six tracks, the eight-piece deliver dark and hazy free-form jazz intertwined with hypnotic funk-based grooves and rhythms. Recalling Miles Davis’ mid to late-’70s live albums, The Gratitude Principle is roomy, the band’s chemistry in the studio clearly on display.
