Guitarist Bill Frisell has released Harmony, his first solo album for iconic jazz label Blue Note Records.
The 14-track record was produced by Lee Townsend, who has first worked with Frisell in 1983. The full-length was recorded with the guitarist’s Harmony ensemble, which also includes longtime collaborators Petra Haden and Hank Roberts on vocals and cello, respectively. Meanwhile, newcomer Luke Bergman provides acoustic guitar, baritone guitar, bass as well as vocals. The album was previewed by the single, “Everywhere.”
Though Harmony is Frisell’s first album as bandleader on Blue Note, he previously contributed to many other releases from the label, including Norah Jones’ Come Away with Me and Don Byron’s Romance with the Unseen.
