Snarky Puppy saxophonist readies solo album, drops “Anti Jam”

‘Boomtown’ by Chris Bullock is out this month.

It can be hard to keep track of all members involved in the beloved Brooklyn-based big band Snarky Puppy. But don’t let this release pass you by: saxophonist Chris Bullock’s solo debut, Boomtown, which features the funky “Anti Jam.”

It’s one of nine original tracks on the record, which is Bullock’s first project as bandleader. Besides tenor and soprano saxophone, he also played flutes, clarinets, piano and more on Boomtown. He also tinkered with an MPC and drum programming, a signal of Bullock’s more recent forays into DJing and hip hop-style production.

Boomtown is out January 18. Hear “Anti Jam” below:
