Robert Stillman has delivered a new record, Reality, on Orindal Records.
The composer and multi-instrumentalist’s music is nothing if not explorative. He’s dug into cosmic jazz, ambient, folk and more in his past releases, including 2017’s Portals and 2016’s Rainbows.
Stillman made Reality, he said in a statement, to “draw attention to, and unconditionally praise, the directly experienced world.” The record showcases his knack for improvisation, as well as his significant musical talent: He played all instruments used on the album himself, including saxophone, clarinets, drums and piano.
