Jazz and hip hop pianist Robert Glasper has shared a new mixtape, Fuck Yo Feelings. It features Herbie Hancock, Yasiin Bey (fka Mos Def), YBN Cordae, Denzel Curry and more.

Fuck Yo Feelings was recorded in a two-day studio session, where rappers, singers, jazz musicians and actors were invited to improvise and collaborate. A brief documentary, which details the recording process and Glasper’s reflections on the mixtape, arrived alongside the project.

“Every album I do, I want to try to represent the times we’re in, and try to use my music also as a catalyst to make people think about things, hopefully to help promote change,” Glasper explains in the documentary. “Music heals, music helps. It’s just something to document the time period, and to let people know that I’m also on your side as well.”

The release of the new mixtape coincides with another Glasper residency at New York City’s iconic Blue Note jazz club, in which he’ll play 56 shows in 28 days. The stretch will include shows with Esperanza Spalding and mixtape guest Yasiin Bey.
