Rez Abbasi, Isabelle Olivier captivate on ‘Oasis’

The American guitarist and French harpist join forces.

American guitarist Rez Abbasi and French harpist Isabelle Olivier have collaborated on a new album, Oasis.

Abbasi’s deft fingerpicking entwines with Olivier’s delicate harpistry on Oasis, which is an acronym for “Olivier Abbasi Sound In Sound.” The album, which opens with familiar Rodgers and Hammerstein show tune “My Favourite Things,” was a commission from the French American Cultural Exchange (FACE) program. Tabla player Prabhu Edouard and drummer David Paycha back the duo.

In October, Abbasi released A Throw of Dice, a soundtrack commissioned for a vintage silent film of the same name. Stream his new album with Olivier here:
