Mark Feldman releases new solo album, ‘Sounding Point’

It’s been two decades since his last solo recording.

Mark Feldman has released a new solo album Sounding Point, which comes 26 years (!) after his last solo CD.

The eight-track album by the New York violinist includes six original compositions and one piece each from the Swiss composer and Feldman’s longtime collaborator Sylvie Courvoisier (“As We Are”) and the legendary Ornette Coleman (“Peace Warriors”).

Sounding Point is the follow-up to 1994’s Music for Violin Alone. Feldman has stayed active and prolific since then, winning a Grammy in 2004 for his work on Michel Brecker’s Wide Angles, recording with the likes of Chris Potter and Placido Domingo, and playing with Joe Lovano, Billy Hart, Uri Caine and more.
