Raul Midón has released “I Love the Afternoon,” a new single from his forthcoming album The Mirror.

The easygoing number—which Midón described to Billboard as “a whimsical song about the virtue of idleness”—is a breezy first taste of the New Mexico guitarist and songwriter’s new record, The Mirror. It follows Midón’s 2018 joint LP with Vince Mendoza and the Metropole Orkest, If You Really Want, and his 2017 album Bad Ass and Blind. Both records were nominated for Grammys in the Best Vocal Jazz Album category.

The Mirror, which Midón produced himself, features contributions from vibraphonist Joe Locke and pianist Gerald Clayton. It arrives March 13 via Artistry/Mack Avenue.
