Late last month, José James released Lean on Me, a covers album that pays tribute to soul legend Bill Withers. Now, James has released a video for “Lovely Day,” featuring Lalah Hathaway.
The Madelyn Deutch-directed visual is bound to put a smile on your face. It’s got a simple concept: James, decked out in ’70s threads, saunters and boogies on the roadside. He also joins the super-scat singer Hathaway on stage. Their voices go together in like milk and honey on this number.
