British keyboardist Joe Armon-Jones has released “Yellow Dandelion,” featuring Los Angeles R&B artist Georgia Anne Muldrow.

In a star turn, Muldrow shows restraint one moment and indulges in vocal acrobatics the next. The single breaks down into a glitchy, experimental section with ample room for Armon-Jones’ funk-filled keys to shine. Saxophonist Nubya Garcia, guitarist Oscar Jerome and drummer Moses Boyd also contribute.

The song previews Armon-Jones’ new album, Turn to Clear View, which was recorded with two studio bands. The Ezra Collective member told Wonderland Magazine that he would “usually write Sibelius charts for the horns and bass, then just describe a vibe to the drummer. We also doubled up songs so some songs were recorded with both lineups, and then I would choose my favorite for the album.”

Turn to Clear View, which also includes previously released single “Icy Roads (Stacked),” will arrive September 20 via Brownswood Recordings. Listen to “Yellow Dandelion” now:
