Jacob Collier, one-man band, performs “All I Need” on ‘Fallon’

Also starring Mahalia.

Jacob Collier and Mahalia recently performed their collaboration “All I Need” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Collier, who’s known for playing several instruments and using software and tech to ‘collaborate’ with himself, turned himself into a one-man band for Fallon. Thanks to the power of editing, the clip shows Collier, decked out in different costumes (including a crocodile onesie), playing the drums, keys, bass and all other instruments as Mahalia sings alongside him.

Every instrument was recorded in duet with Mahalia, Collier revealed on social media, and shot from multiple angles. “I had so much fun editing it all together!”

“All I Need”—whose studio version also features Ty Dolla $ign—appears on Collier’s album Djesse Vol 3, which also included “He Won’t Hold You” featuring Rapsody, “In My Bones” featuring Kimbra and Tank and the Bangas, and “Time Alone With You” featuring Daniel Caesar.

Djesse Vol 3 wrapped up Collier’s Djesse trilogy. The first and second parts were released in December 2018 and July 2019 respectively.
