Hear Thundercat’s “King of the Hill” from new Brainfeeder compilation

Featuring BADBADNOTGOOD and Flying Lotus.

It’s a jazzy dream come true: Thundercat has linked up with BADBADNOTGOOD and Flying Lotus for this new track, “King of the Hill.”

The song gets off to an ominous start, but soon enough the bassist comes in crooning about love. It’s short, sweet and wholly mellow, which is to be expected from a collab with BBNG, purveyors of jazz that’s laid-back but not lazy.

This track comes from Brainfeeder X, the label’s forthcoming tenth anniversary compilation, which also includes FlyLo’s remix of “Walk Free” by Brandon Coleman. The full comp is out November 16.

BADBADNOTGOOD tweeted that they were “incredibly honoured” to be involved with “King of the Hill,” to which Thundercat replied that there was “more to come.” Fingers crossed.
