Bob Reynolds of Snarky Puppy releases ‘Runway’

Listen to the John Mayer collaborator’s new LP.

Bob Reynolds, tenor saxophonist of Grammy-winning jazz collective Snarky Puppy, has released his new solo album Runway.

For the 11-track record, the longtime John Mayer collaborator opened his songwriting process to other musicians for the first time. They include British bassist Janek Gwizdala (who produced and contributed to six of the 11 tracks) and Ukrainian pianist Ruslan Sirota, who plays on closing song “Look Up.”

“This album was also, for me, about experimenting with songcraft. It’s the first time I’ve collaborated with band members on the songwriting process,” Reynolds said in a statement on Bandcamp. “This whole album was a search for opportunities to explore territories I enjoy as a soloist in other groups. Often they’re different from the places I gravitate to as a composer.”
