Big Heart Machine’s Brian Krock readies new solo album, ‘Liddle’

He’s released the opening track, “(flip).”

A couple of months after Big Heart Machine made its debut, its bandleader Brian Krock is readying a solo release, Liddle. Its opening track, “(flip),” is out now.

The track mainly foregrounds Krock’s alto saxophone runs, though pianist Matt Mitchell steps in for the titular ‘flip’ halfway through with an energetic solo. Other collaborators on the album include Olli Hirvonen on electric guitar, Simon Jermyn on electric bass and guitar, Marty Kenney on upright bass and Nathan Ellman-Bell on drums.

For Liddle, Krock worked with the same team that put out Big Heart Machine’s self-titled record, because its release was “so successful and satisfying,” he explained on his official site. The album is due out April 26 on Outside in Music.
