Aquiles Navarro and Tcheser Holmes—also members of Irreversible Entanglements—have released “Pueblo,” from the forthcoming sequel to their 2014 LP Heritage of the Invisible.
The pair last worked together on the Irreversible Entanglements LP Who Sent You? released back in March. Now, the musicians have stepped away from their jazz quintet to honor their Latin and Afro-Caribbean roots on Heritage of the Invisible II. The LP is their latest release in a long line of collaborations that also includes 2017’s The Possibility of Altered Destiny.
“It’s a celebration of life, the coming together of the people, el pueblo, a celebration of who we are, where we come from,” Navarro said in a statement of their new album. “It’s our pueblo, our people, a feeling of openness, hope, and a future of unity from el pueblo, the people.”
At only two minutes, “Pueblo” is a brief but exciting first glimpse of Heritage of the Invisible II. The track arrived with a music video, directed by Good Glass Films, that presents a dreamlike mix of performance footage of the duo with dancing by Cal Hunt and Quamaine Daniels.
Heritage of the Invisible II will be released on October 23 via International Anthem. Watch the video for “Pueblo” below:
