Anna Webber leads a septet on new album, ‘Clockwise’

A project at the intersection of avant-garde jazz and new classical.

Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist and composer Anna Webber has released a new album, Clockwise.

For the nine-track record, Webber—who plays flute and saxophone—led a septet that included musicians such as Jeremy Viner, Jacob Garchik and Chris Hoffman. Highly prolific, she has also released music as part of a trio and numerous other formations.

Clockwise hasn’t been out for a week yet, but it’s already been named one of the best jazz albums out on Bandcamp this month. Stream selected tracks from the album here:
