Alabaster DePlume teases new album with “Whisky Story Time”

    ‘To Cy & Lee: Instrumentals Vol 1’ comes out next month.

    British jazz saxophonist and composer Alabaster DePlume has released a breezy new song, “Whisky Story Time.”

    The laid-back instrumental track is the lead single from his forthcoming album, To Cy & Lee: Instrumentals Vol 1. The record is a collection of compositions from the last eight years of the musician’s career, inspired by Japanese animation, computer games and the soundtrack of animated film Castle in the Sky.

    “Years ago I played a bit of sax in other people’s gigs. I realized I was waiting for someone to give me permission to do my own thing,” DePlume said in a press statement. “I noticed that no-one will ever give you permission to do your awesome shit, because they don’t know what it is. It’s impossible for them to give you permission.”

    To Cy & Lee: Instrumentals Vol 1 is due out February 28 via International Anthem. Listen to “Whisky Story Time” below:
