Yung Miami of City Girls shot at while leaving studio

Thankfully, the rapper was not hurt.

Yung Miami—one half of rap duo City Girls—was reportedly the target of a recent drive-by shooting in Florida. Thankfully, the rapper and her unborn baby managed to emerge unhurt, TMZ reported.

According to the tabloid news outlet, Miami was leaving her recording studio on Tuesday morning in her red Mercedes G-Wagon when a shooter opened fire. Police said they were alerted of the shooting and arrived on the scene soon after. Officials confirmed that the pregnant rapper was safe and didn’t suffer from any injuries. They are currently looking into the case but no arrests have been made over the alleged attack.

In a video recorded by an eye-witness on the scene, the rapper told authorities that she had heard gunshots from a vehicle behind her but wasn’t able to identify her shooter. “They had their lights off so I never saw them like whoever it was they kept their lights off,” she explained. “I don’t know where they came from. They started from behind because when I got to the stop sign I was like, ‘Oh shit somebody’s shooting.’” Miami also claimed that her shooter managed to hit her spare tire.

Following the incident, Miami took to Instagram earlier today to update fans that she and her baby were in good condition. “Thank you everyone for your expression of sympathy, prayers and condolences. Me and baby Summer [are] perfectly fine,” she wrote.

In June, Miami announced that she was pregnant with her second child. The rapper explained that she had wanted to break the news on her “own terms” and that JT—who is currently serving jail time for fraud charges—has been supportive of her pregnancy throughout.
