Your Old Droog releases “Dropout Boogie,” featuring MF DOOM

It’s the latest posthumous release from the late rapper.

Your Old Droog has dropped a fresh track “Dropout Boogie,” featuring the late MF DOOM.

The track was produced by EDAN and features both rappers exchanging cerebral verses over groove-infused beats. “Remain true to the task / Got bad grades still stay doing the math / Prom night pack of bones in the flask / Chaperone maricón let him in with the mask,” DOOM raps on his tongue-twisting verses.

Your Old Droog revealed in a statement to Consequence that “Dropout Boogie” was the first song he ever made with MF DOOM. “I remember getting the verse back and realizing that I had come full circle,” he said. “That same night I drove by my old community college where I used to listen to DOOM heavy back in ’07-’08 and I was in a semi-catatonic state playing that verse back over and over.”

MF DOOM, born Daniel Dumile, passed away on Halloween 2020, which his family later confirmed on New Year’s Eve. Since then, a posthumous joint album with Czarface, Super What was released, and it was revealed that a Madvillainy sequel was in the works prior to his death.

On the other hand, Your Old Droog collaborated with The God Fahim for a joint album The YOD Fahim and dropped “Crab Cakes,” which featured a posthumous verse from Prodigy.
