Your Old Droog drops new song with posthumous Prodigy verse

“Crab Cakes” was also produced by The Alchemist.

Your Old Droog has returned with the song “Crab Cakes,” produced by The Alchemist and featuring a verse by late Mobb Deep co-founder, Prodigy.

On the song, the Brooklyn rapper drops threatening bars over a hypnotic piano loop. “You know my style official / Like a rottweiler to a shiatsu / You know that I could get you / If I don’t hit you, I could split you, doc can stitch you,” he spits.

Later in the song, Prodigy, who died in 2017, raps about this dedication to hip hop: “To these hardcore hip hop beats / I put my life on the line, like an EKG / I put my life in these lines, yeah, autobiographic / They want me to shut up, my shit is so graphic.”
