Young Thug hops on remix of RMR’s “Rascal”

Thugger speaks out against police brutality on a new verse.

RMR has released a new version of his viral song “Rascal,” this time with an assist from Young Thug.

The remix adds a fresh verse from Thugger, who speaks out against police brutality. “Chasin’ these blue strips, often elusive / Nemesis nuisances, they label us with they two cents / Recruiters to shooters, they harassin’ us, I’m pursuin’ / Ride for what’s right, the news reporters, they lootin’, man,” he spits.

The “Rascal” remix is the latest of several recently released songs that have taken inspiration from the Black Lives Matter protests across the country. Others include tracks from DaBaby, Buddy and Trey Songz.

The original “Rascal,” which is a rework of Rascal Flatts’ “Bless the Broken Road,” is featured on RMR’s debut EP, Drug Dealing is a Lost Art. The project, which arrived last week, also included the Future– and Lil Baby-assisted remix of “Dealer” and the previously released “I’m Not Over You.”
