Young MA, Rubi Rose channel LL Cool J for “Don Diva” MV

From Young MA’s brand-new album, ‘Off the Yak.’

Young MA has shared her new album, Off the Yak, and a music video for Rubi Rose collaboration “Don Diva.”

For their “Don Diva” clip, MA and Rose recreated LL Cool J’s 1996 visual for “Doin’ it.” The rappers channel the video’s iconic scenes and outfits, from the silver-painted dancers to MA’s purple suit.

The two rappers swap seductive bars over a similarly smooth beat co-produced by JayUncut and SOUNDSfromIKEY. “Ooh, I love the way you talk shit / I love the way your attitude is on some boss shit / 80K for the Cubans, but that don’t cost shit,” MA spits.

Rose replies, “Ooh, he love the way I talk shit / He love the way my attitude is on some boss shit / Hunnid for the AP that don’t cost shit.”

Besides “Don Diva,” Off the Yak also features contributions from fellow Brooklynite Fivio Foreign on “Hello Baby,” Max YB on “Nasty,” and Wap5tar on “Klub Stories.”

Off the Yak is Young MA’s sophomore album. In 2019, she delivered her studio debut, Herstory in the Making, and she dropped off her Red Flu EP last year.
