Young MA goes “Savage Mode” in new video

The first visual from her ‘Red Flu’ EP.

Shortly after releasing her Red Flu EP, Young MA has followed up the project with its first visual for “Savage Mode.”

The video, directed by ShotByCisco, features the Brooklyn native riding around New York City with her friends while telling off naysayers with aggressive bars. “All my haters want me dead, that’s why I live it up / Put a price right on his head don’t start no shit with us / It’s a table full of bread, no you can’t sit with us / ’Cause you ain’t been with us, you ain’t no day one,” she spits.

Speaking with Complex, Young MA explained that Red Flu is something to hold fans over until her sophomore album arrives. “There’s been a lot of frustration with this quarantine. I had a lot of time on my hands, so I was able to focus on writing music, listening to beats and having time to myself,” she said. “It’s just something to give to my fans. They need it.”

It’s not clear when MA’s follow-up to her debut album, Herstory in the Making, will be released. Herstory featured tracks such as “Numb,” “Bipolar” and “She Like I’m Like.”
