YBN Cordae has changed his artist name following the recent split of his rap collective, YBN Crew.
YBN, which stands for Young Boss N***as, was made up of three core members: YBN Nahmir, YBN Almighty Jay and YBN Cordae. According to HotNewHipHop, the North Carolina rapper now simply goes by Cordae, having dropped the YBN prefix after the group announced their disbandment earlier this month.
Fans also noticed that he’d removed YBN from his name on all his social media handles and streaming services, including Spotify, Tidal and Amazon Music.

YBN Crew announced their sudden split earlier this month, though details behind the break-up remain unclear. On August 7, YBN Nahmir revealed on Twitter that he was the only member left in the group, stoking rumors that the group fell out. “They left this YBN shit in the gutter,” he wrote. “Remember that. I’ll turn it up myself.”

At the time of report, neither Cordae nor YBN Almighty Jay has addressed the crew’s dissolution.
Cordae enjoyed a breakout year in 2019 after dropping his star-studded debut album, The Lost Boy, which included appearances from Chance the Rapper, Anderson .Paak and Pusha T. In July, the rapper announced that he was gearing up to release new music soon.
