Method Man recently visited the Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) in New York to surprise a patient who happens to be a Wu-Tang Clan fan.
According to SI Live, the 26-year-old fan—only known as Bryson—is currently battling an illness that doctors have described as life-threatening. Due to privacy reasons, the hospital didn’t elaborate further on his condition. However, it is stated that Bryson has been “fighting for his life” for the past three months.
Upon hearing the news, Method quickly made plans to cheer Bryson up. And thanks to Have a Heart, a non-profit organization that dedicates itself to “raising awareness and creating programs and events designed to provide a better life for underprivileged youth,” the hip hop legend successfully surprised Bryson with a hospital visit.
In a statement released by SIUH’s spokesperson Christian Preston, the hospital staff had put together a “week of surprises” for Bryson, which included gifts and a special dinner. “After finding out [Bryson] was a hip hop fan, [the staff] purchased a speaker system for him to listen to his favorite music,” he said. “Then, they reached out to one of his favorite rappers, Method Man from the supergroup the Wu-Tang Clan and his foundation Have a Heart NY.”
