Woman accuses Migos’ Takeoff of sexual assault

According to the lawsuit, the rapper allegedly raped her at a party in Los Angeles.

Migos’ Takeoff is being sued by a woman who alleges he raped her at a party in Los Angeles.

According to the lawsuit, per The Los Angeles Times, the incident took place on June 22 2020 at a party in Encino, California. The woman said she was invited to the event by one of Migos’ associates, DJ Daryl “Durel” McPherson, who frequently spins for the group.

The woman claimed that Takeoff—whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball—arrived later on the scene and began to pursue her, at one point offering her weed, which she declined. The rapper then followed the woman to a bedroom where he allegedly raped her.

As Billboard reports, the woman left the party after the alleged assault to receive medical care at a nearby hospital. That same day she filed a report to the Los Angeles Police Department. The victim’s lawyer, Neama Rahmani, said that the investigation has been “very drawn-out” and “not much has been done.”

“I’m hoping that after beginning discovery in this suit, other witnesses will come forward. We’re committed to supporting the criminal investigation, but the time for waiting for LAPD has passed,” Rahmani told LA Times.

Following the allegations, Takeoff’s attorney Drew Findling issued a statement to TMZ to deny the claims, saying they were “patently and provably false.” “The claims and statements made regarding this lawsuit indicate that the plaintiffs’ representatives have not spoken with relevant witnesses or reviewed available evidence,” Findling added.

Migos are in the midst of releasing a new project that’s due out sometime later this year. The group have previewed the release with a slew of tracks: “Racks 2 Skinny,” “Taco Tuesday” and “Need it.”
