Joyner Lucas’ ADHD cut, “Will,” has just reached a new level. The track, which paid tribute to Will Smith, has now received a remix featuring the Fresh Prince himself.
The rework swaps out Lucas’ original verses for one long rap from Smith, who thanks Lucas for the recognition and shouts out family, friends and his own role models. “On top of my dreams, Joyner, I know you inspired by me / Like I was inspired by Nelson Mandela, I give him a rose for every endeavor / And shoutout to Julius Erving, one of the legends I worship / Muhammad Ali put the work in, he was a champ, the greatest, he earned it,” he spits.
Meanwhile, Lucas opens and closes the song with its familiar chorus: “I’m feelin’ like Will, I feel like a prince, I’m feelin’ myself / I’m loaded with bills ’cause I wasn’t blessed with no Uncle Phil / Don’t know how it feels, I wanted to flex, they told me to chill / I’m makin’ a flip, my life is a flick, now load up the film.”
Back in March, Lucas released a video for “Will” which highlighted many of the actor’s iconic roles, and also featured an appearance from Smith himself. On the other hand, Smith’s last album was 2005’s Lost and Found, although he has dropped a couple of one-off singles since, like 2011’s “The Great Depression” and 2017’s “Get Lit.”
