“Who R U?” Anderson .Paak wants to know

A new song from ‘Oxnard,’ which drops next Friday.

In anticipation of Oxnard, Anderson .Paak has dropped “Who R U?,” another taster from the upcoming ecord.

Running slightly under three minutes, the brief Dr Dre- and Mell-produced track is less boisterous than the previous single “Tints,” but it still packs a punch. On it, the Cali rapper proudly claims dominance in the rap scene and shrugs off his critics over a menacing beat: “And I’m on another wave / And I’m fucking on suede / N***as feeling overpaid, ‘Fuck I’m supposed to do?’ / Don’t nobody know your name.”

Following 2016’s Malibu, Oxnard is .Paak’s third full-length and the final installment of his “beach series.” “This is the album I dreamed of making in high school, when I was listening to [Jay-Z]’s The Blueprint, The Game’s The Documentary, and [Kanye West’s] The College Dropout,” he told Rolling Stone in a recent interview.
