The rapper navigates between his rising success and relatable struggles on the track.

Tobi Lou has unveiled the video for his latest single, “Student Loans.”

On the Ktwicebeats-produced track, the Nigerian-born, Chicago-raised rapper explores his hunger for success while talking about the everyday struggles he still faces. “Like it or not, my therapist told me that I gotta chill / But I like it hot / I stay on that water, you think I’m a boat / I might buy a yacht, I’m just playin’, I ain’t rich yet / Student loans, student loans / Student loans got me in debt,” he rhymes.

The accompanying video finds Lou holding pads and boards for a classmate at a taekwondo class—a training session enhanced by clubby lighting.

“Student Loans” is the latest track from Lou, following last month’s “Endorphins.” Earlier this year, he dropped the three-track EP Lingo Starr, and will follow that up soon with the project Parrish Blue.
