Watch the video for Nicki Minaj’s new song, “Megatron”

Her first single following her 2018 album, ‘Queen.’

Nicki Minaj is back: At the stroke of midnight on Friday, the rapper dropped the song and video for “Megatron.”

It seems that after the success of “Chun-Li,” from her last album Queen, Onika has gotten a taste for comparing herself to iconic video game characters. “They call me Megatron, just did a telethon / He got Margiela’s on and I get my jealous on,” she raps on the first verse. The perky, bass-heavy production was handled by Minaj, Pop Wansel and NOVA Wav.

The accompanying music video was directed by Mike Ho. It stars Minaj’s current boyfriend, Kenneth Petty, and ends with the rapper setting fire to a bright green Lamborghini.

“Megatron” is Onika’s first single post-Queen, though she has since contributed several guest verses to other artist’s tracks. These include “BAPS” by Trina, “Dumb Blonde” by Avril Lavigne and “No Candle No Light” by ZAYN.
