Watch Rich the Kid perform his hits with a live orchestra

Two words: so good.

Rich the Kid is the latest rap star to appear on Audiomack’s Trap Symphony series, following Chief Keef.

Accompanied by an eight-piece ensemble, the Queens rapper born Dimitri Roger performed three songs altogether: His latest single “Splashin” and two cuts off 2018’s The World is Yours, “New Freezer” and “Plug Walk.” With the addition of haunting strings and keys, the live orchestral arrangement puts a dramatic spin on the originals.

But the unquestionable highlight of the three-song performance was the unexpected take on the Kendrick Lamar-assisted “New Freezer.” On this rendition, Lamar’s verse was swapped out for a chilling cello solo.
