Watch Oddisee rap ‘Odd Cure’ songs for NPR’s ‘Tiny Desk’

He released the EP back in July.

Five years after his Tiny Desk debut, Oddisee has returned—albeit remotely—to perform cuts from his July EP, Odd Cure.

The rapper and his band, Good Company, set up shop at the Assorted Studios in Pennsylvania to give a virtual live performance of four cuts from the EP: “The Cure,” “Shoot Your Shot,” “I Thought You Were Fate,” “Still Strange” and “Go to Mars.”

The rapper described Odd Cure as “a record I didn’t want to write, but needed to,” after its July release. Oddisee recorded the effort while in self-isolation after cutting his tour short due to COVID-19. The songs were inspired by the jumble of news, misinformation and conspiracy theories, he said, that circulated during the first few weeks of the pandemic.

Odd Cure was the Brooklyn rapper’s first project in three years, since his 2017 album, The Iceberg. Watch his remote Tiny Desk below:
