Namir Blade and L’Orange have announced a new joint album, Imaginary Everything, with the song “Corner Store Scandal.”
In the accompanying Joel Davis-directed clip, Blade shoots hoops and visits a small corner store to grab a bite. “All I ever wanted was a bag full of money / And a new whip so I could dash with the homies / And some new shit that I could bump by myself / Everything you do you know I do it for my health,” he spits. L’Orange does not appear in the video.
“I wrote this song after making an exuberant purchase at a corner store,” Namir said of the track in a statement. “Sometimes you just have to allow the mundane to be extravagant.”
Imaginary Everything will be entirely produced by L’Orange and feature a number of guest rappers, including Quelle Chris, Marlowe, Fly Anakin and Jordan Webb. The rapper and producer are also set to appear on Mello Music Group’s forthcoming compilation project, Bushido, due out next month.
Imaginary Everything is due out May 7. Watch the video for “Corner Store Scandal” below:
