Watch Migos, DJ Durel throw a block party in “Hot Summer” video

The clip is a nod to Spike Lee’s ‘Do the Right Thing.’

In Migos and DJ Durel’s video for “Hot Summer,” the gang bid goodbye to the warmer months with a good ol’ fashioned block party.

Taking cues from Spike Lee’s 1989 film Do the Right Thing, the vibrant, Gabriel Hart-directed clip features Migos, DJ Durel and the rest of their crew taking to the streets in their best retro-inspired outfits. Think fanny packs, outrageous printed shorts, oversized tank tops and neon-colored spandex. “We shuttin’ down the cities / We bringin’ out all the bad bitches,” DJ Durel yells on the intro.

We see them roller skate down the block, shoot hoops and even dance on school buses—it’s the perfect visual to send summer off with a bang.

“Hot Summer” comes shortly after the Quality Control rappers dropped their song “Is You Ready,” as part of Mile 22’s official soundtrack. The Atlanta trio are currently co-headlining a North American tour with Drake.
