Homeboy Sandman has released a video for his song “Waiting on My Girl,” from his latest album, Don’t Feed the Monster.
The song—and new clip—describe the relatable frustration many men feel while waiting for their girlfriends to get ready. In Homeboy’s video, his lady love handles a variety of tasks, including cooking a turkey, making a ceramic pot and taking a bath, all while the impatient rapper grows older and older.
“Most the time that’s in the world / Is time that I will wind up spending waiting on my girl,” Homeboy marvels on the track. “She got like 90 different tasks / And all of them are very slow and none are very fast / Supposedly every single one is crucial / It’s some ish that I don’t ever get used to.”
The playful song was produced by Quelle Chris, who handled the beats for Homeboy’s entire Don’t Feed the Monster project. The 15-track LP arrived back in October, and followed Homeboy’s 2019 album, Dusty.
