Griselda Records’ first female signee Armani Caesar has dropped a video for “Simply Done” featuring labelmate Benny the Butcher.
“Simply Done,” Armani’s debut release on Griselda, arrived in August. Now the DJ Premier-produced track has gotten a straightforward but flex-heavy clip starring the two rappers holding cash and spitting bars on the street.
Armani hasn’t put out new music since “Simply Done,” but fans won’t have long to wait—she’s teasing a release called The Liz dropping on September 18. It will follow her previous non-Griselda projects: 2018’s Pretty Girls Get Played Too, 2015’s Caesar’s Palace and 2011’s Hand Bag Addict.
Westside Gunn signed Armani to Griselda earlier this year. Per Uproxx, he said the signing “was over a decade in the making.” On Instagram, he wrote, “She’s a hustler, she comes from the same streets as US and actually started with us. We’re about to get busy. So I want EVERYBODY to follow her and support her. I’m taking her to Alchemist right now we’re not waiting lol… Also imagine somebody with bars, can turn up on these hoes and look as beautiful as this, it’s a new day.”
Armani also appears on fellow Griselda rapper Conway the Machine’s new album From King to a God, which dropped yesterday. While you wait for The Liz, watch the video for “Simply Done” here:
