88rising’s Karaoke Royale series has been one of our favorite watches for a minute now. And a few days ago, the Asian-focused label/YouTube channel posted a new episode, featuring Famous Dex in the hot seat.
The premise of the video game-themed show is simple: 88rising takes a rapper, puts them in a karaoke room, plies them with drinks, and rolls camera as all hell breaks loose. In Dex’s case, he summoned enough (liquid) courage to break into The Temptations’ classic “My Girl”—the Chicago rapper doesn’t exactly kill it, but his fun-loving spirit sure makes the clip worth the watch. He even takes 50 Cent’s “In da Club” for a quick spin.
It all gets real towards the end of the clip, though. Dex performs his latest track, “Japan,” but not before ’fessing up to not having been to the country. “I wanna go to Japan—that’s been, like, one of my dream trips,” he said. “Do they have Hennessy in Japan?”
