Watch Erick the Architect’s bittersweet “Die 4 U” video

The song appeared on his debut solo EP, ‘Future Proof.’

Erick the Architect has shared the video for “Die 4 U,” featuring Sophie Faith, a cut from his recently released debut solo EP, Future Proof.

In the new Kanya Iwana-directed clip, the rapper stars opposite actress Chauntice Green as a couple at odds in a bittersweet relationship. “I feel I’m out of rhythm / Don’t ask me how I’m feeling / It’s overwhelming, I’m trying to feed an entire village / With nothing left, I’m taking control,” Erick sings. The clip does not feature an appearance from Faith.

“I’ve dealt with toxic relationships before—it’s funny how dealing with someone who is bad for you makes you re-evaluate yourself,” Erick told Complex of the track. “This song talks a bit about that internal struggle, searching for that validation and overcoming it all.”

The introspective ballad was one of five tracks on Future Proof EP. The project also featured collaborations with Col3trane, Loyle Carner, FARR and Pip Millett.
