Aminé elevated his recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! by performing from a hot air balloon as it was in flight.
As the massive balloon—which featured a variety of national flags—soared into the air, the Portland native performed “Woodlawn,” a cut from his sophomore album, Limbo. “Came a long way from that Woodlawn Park / Now, young Aminé pushin’ push to start,” he rapped.
After descending back to the ground, Aminé then brought the audience inside the balloon, which he turned into a makeshift stage for “Burden,” Limbo’s opening track. “When your skin darker, shit gets harder / This a Black album, like Shawn Carter,” he spit.
Aminé also paid tribute to the Black Lives Matter movement with his performance: the hot air balloon features the American flag with “BLM” written over it, and Aminé’s shirt honored victims of police brutality.
Aminé released Limbo, which featured contributions from Young Thug, Summer Walker, Charlie Wilson, JID and more, in August. Watch his Jimmy Kimmel Live! performance below:
