Wale’s new freestyle is full of football references

“Lions, Bengals & Bears” was produced by DJ Money.

Wale has connected with hitmaker DJ Money for his new freestyle, “Lions, Bengals & Bears.”

On the freestyle, the rapper spits clever football and sports references and wordplay over a melodic beat that samples Jazmine Sullivan’s “Lions, Tigers & Bears.” “Lions, bengals and bears, none of my guys scared / Chase rumbling any one of them guys there,” Wale raps. “Yeah, uh, the physical and mental / The thing I love ’bout football is the stats kill opinions.”

The rapper continues the football references on the freestyle’s cover art, which is a play on the NFL logo. On the production side, DJ Money was also joined by beatsmiths Dante Carter and Chad Paul.

“Lions, Bengals & Bears” marks Wale’s first solo release since his The Imperfect Storm EP, which was released earlier this year. The artist has also appeared on tracks by Queen Naija, Arin Ray, Rockie Fresh, They. and Mannywellz.
